Interview with Madhvi @philotreat

We interviewed Madhvi @philotreat and asked her the following questions!

Thank you for taking the time to share your ideas on what it means to be human! Let’s start the conversation! Think of this as your statement to the world. Centered around the answer to, “What does it mean to be human?” Please introduce yourself. Do you have a philosophy, religion, or spirituality that you follow? What do you think it means to be human? And how can we make the world a better place to live for everyone? Feel free to interpret these questions however you see fit and allow yourself to be creative in the answers, however long or short you wish the answer to be.

I'm Madhvi, a 26-year-old Indian woman. Currently a Research Scholar in Philosophy and a founder of Philotreat-Treat Thyself. I enjoy music, spending time with my pets, and travelling on the weekends. I practice a mystical life, which includes a meditative journey, an existential perspective, and minimalist living.

First part- Being human requires discovering one's true self. We are surrounded by layers of the outside world and rarely have time to examine deeply within. When we grasp who we truly are, we will realise that we are NOT HUMANS. This is just a selection of the categories in which we have historically found comfort. We are SELF- a single unit and not growing masses. The physical perish, but the supra-mental lives on forever.

To explain the concept of "to be a human," I believe we must look at ourselves outside from philosophies, ethnicity, and categorizations based on professions, religions, political parties, and so on.

Second Part- To be honest, we will never be able to make the world a better place for everyone to live. It is due to the fact that desires and demands of humans fluctuate every second. For example, even if you provide a human all of the necessities of life, he will still want more.

My understanding is that if you keep your surroundings in good condition, care for the people and animals around you, they will begin to care for you. This way we could make a happy place around.

Thank you for filling out our Cue The Humans survey Madhvi! We value your opinions and thoughts on what it means to be human! The goal is to ask everyone these questions, and really find out, what it means to be human, together.
